Newly diagnosed, feeling depressed, scared for new outbreaks

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had 2 outbreaks since October. I slept with a guy end of September and 2 days after I got this sore, no blisters. I had a conference and I actually wasn't thinking about it, knew nothing, I thought it was some sex related mechanical thing. I went to the doctor after 10 days, but all the tests came back negative. However, I got another bump, only one but big, last Sunday, I had my swab test again and now herpes is confirmed! The doctor gave me Acyclovir for 10 days, 3 times per day. Affraid of coming back so soon...

You have to relax. Anxiety and stress can affect your outbreak. Don't be too afraid about it anyway, I've only lived with it for a year and a half now (that I know of), but I've had at least 4 outbreaks, all very close to one another, I haven't had another one for the past 7 months, but still it sucked. I know it's going to be hard, but it's not as bad as people make it seem. Usually the first outbreaks are the worst (as least that's what I've heard haha, so that's what keeps me going with positivity 😄 ).

Thank you very much! All I keep on reading is those cases where people say it messed their life completely! 😦 I'm having my finals, so stressed from that too, can't really focus...:( SHould I use something to boost my immune system? Some supplements?

Look, I have read the same things, and the comment below, and I'm not diminishing what they're going through, but at this point you don't know what exactly is going to happen. You don't know how your body is going to react. I believe these people, but it's not like that for everyone, and it's important to keep positive either way, no sense in stressing if it's not the bad one.

Thank you very much for all support. The worst thing is that yesterday my pap smear results came and it turned put I also have HpV high risk, Lsil...They cannot do biopsy now, because of the herpes. They told me to wait. So, things can be worse...:((( I never had anything abnormal before, and now I got two diagnosis in 2 days. 😦(((

      Feeling in ruins...

I've had to go on medication twice a day for the rest of my life as i kept getting outbreaks and couldn't cope with the pain. On the meds i don't have any outbreak unless i come off so that may be an option for you. I was diagnosed with both strains
