Newly diagnosed for HSV2 and HSV1

Hello everyone!!

I was recently diagnosed with HSV2 and 1 and I’m a 26 year old female and I’ve never had a HSV1 OB. When I was diagnosed with HSV2 I was currently I guess having an OB but I don’t recall having the actual sore completely form but I do recall that before I even started having problems down there I felt itching and a lot of it and burning when I’d urinate but I thought it was a yeast infection and this went on for a few months until I finally said this isn’t normal getting this many yeast infections until I went and got checked and blood work done and was diagnosed with it 2 weeks ago but she also said I did have a yeast infection as well and I did get that treated. They Dr. did give me Acyclovir 400mg to take 4 times a day for a week and while I was on the medication all of this symptoms went completely away. But not recently I’m having itching and burning sensation plus irritation once again and I don’t know if that means I’m having another OB yet again? Will this always be happening? Will I forever have to me on the meds daily? How do I know when I’ll be completely back to normal and when will I know when the OB has gone away or dormant/suppressed? Cause I’m getting pretty down feeling these symptoms will never go away. Any help or advice????????? P.S I’ve read that having this or an OB causes women to have  frequent yeast infections as well and that causes the itching/inflammation/irritation/burning sensation when peeing or in general? But idk... I just need help

when one has genital herpes Some have outbreaks and some don't. Since you did blood work and it came out positive for genital herpes there is no cure for it some people might have 2 to 6 outbreaks a year and some might not get any. Everybody is different so people have diffetent outbreaks. There are remedies and medication for it to reduce the outbreaks but there is no cure. Herpes is not life threatning.

I understand that there isn’t a cure of this. What I’m trying to understand is if what I’m experiencing at the moment is an OB which is causing consistent yeast infections and it’s the actual yeast infections that I’m having symptoms or it’s both. Like I mentioned I don’t have an actual sore just itching/burning/irritation and a bit of inflammation.

Which I also want to understand if these symptoms will forever be present.

Hiya! I’ve recently been diagnosed too and it’s a lot to deal with at first. Just try to stay healthy and don’t get too stressed. You may never have an outbreak again! Xxx

Yeah that’s the thing though I’m not even sure if I’m still having an OB since I don’t have actual sores or anything of that sort down there and because of OB I’m possibly having I constantly keep getting yeast infections and that’s what’s cause the itching and burning sensation/irritation or it’s the actual HSV2 that’s causing those symptoms.

I tried asking all these questions to my doctor but she hardly gave me the time of day to even explain anything she just said I have that gave me the medication and that was it. And I was left with a bunch of unanswered questions
