Newly Diagnosed Pacs - Terrified

Posted , 2 users are following.

I've been scouring the board tonight looking for information. My story:

  • Long hx of panic/anxiety
  • Two weeks ago went to Urgent Care because of "skips/flutters" lasting for a few hours. EKG negative. Got blood work done in ER, was admitted overnight. All cardiac tests normal.

-Today I had almost constant "flutters skips" Went to ER. Blood work, EKG. again normal. Finally caught Pacs on the monitor. ZIO patch on Monday

My question is has anyone had these for hours or even days? I'm so scared. Nothing I do or dont do seems to matter I am getting runs of 5-6 at a time. It's been almost 14 hours now. Thanks in advance

The best advice I can give you is to spend a few hours reading the many threads on this subject on this board. You will see that very many people suffer from this, some almost constantly and for years. With others it comes and goes.

A common cause is said to be anxiety, drinking/eating the wrong food or drink , changes in personal circumstances and especially linked to digestion problems and the vagus nerve.

However everyone is different so follow the medical procedure and see where that takes you. often the medical fraternity do not seem to take this condition seriously and after tests assure you that you are fine.

let us know how you get on

      Tony,

Thank you so much for the encouragement and support and plain common sense. I've had some sleep now and they have abated somewhat. I'm going to take your advice and do some reading. I'm also going to follow up with my care and definitely be my own advocate for my health and wellbeing.

Again, much appreciation for your post and kind words!
