Newly diagnosed with LS, really struggling! Newbie advice needed ❤️

Just been diagnosed properly this week after suspecting I had it since October last year after 4 months of thrush symptoms went untreated. My symptoms now are quite severe, I get random swelling, sticking together, scarring and almost constant itching and swelling. My GP has prescribed steroid cream and hyrdomol. A few years ago I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer which lead me to develop HypoPARAthyroidism, histamine dominance, asthma and chronic bladder infection, so I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed! I'm trying low carb / gluten free but unfortunately because of my Hypopara I can't cut out dairy at all 😣 My allergist diagnosed me with the histamine dominance after my radiation and said it had affected my autoimmune system so I'm fairly sure it's related to that. Has anyone else got other autoimmune issues? So glad I found this forum as I was feeling pretty low about it all xxx

Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. It is common to have more than one autoimmune condition.

Follow your doctor's instructions regarding the steroid application and have a bath before putting it on to make the skin more receptive to the steroid. Take 90 seconds to rub it in (watch the Dr. Goldstein video if you haven't yet). Often when treatment starts, it will get worse before it gets better and can take up to a couple of years to get it under control. Many say that stress makes it worse, so try not to focus on it and get worked up (I know! Easier said than done when everything is painful, itching and changing!)

This forum has a lot of good information. Dive into the archives and read what other have to say. Everyone's situation is different and they respond to different interventions.
