Hey so I've had dry eye for a little while now, today I experienced more pain than usual. It feels like a stabbing pain and it moves around like something's in my eye but I'm almost certain nothing is bc I put my dry eye drops (no preservitives) in the effected eye multiple times today and I feel like if something was in it I woild've seen it by now? this happened out of nowhere while I was driving, I was fine then boom! I have been using the comp for longer than normal today. Does anyone else experience this pain?

It's really making me nervous I'm trying to remain calm but some advice would help.. thanks.

Hi It sounds as though you may have eye concretions caused by dry eyes. You reallty need to see an ophthalmologist for a full eye examination, this can be done at a walk in clinic, emergency eye casualty clinic at most eye ospitals. The specuialist may remove thee concretions using a sterile needle. it is a painless procedure giving some immediate relief. it is important to make sure the dr inverts the upper eye lid to examine for any concretions there as they will rub against the eye if left behind.

Olease try to go to the hospital asap. It has to be an eye hospital though. My phthalmologist prescribed lacrilube following removing the concretions.

It's weird tho bc I just saw my ophthalmologist super recently, maybe 2-3 months and she said everything was fine. confirmed i still had dry eye but said my eye looked "perfect" (with the exception of some floaters) i get this sensation sometimes it goes on and off, this was a little more severe than normal but it seemed to go down since i posted this but i can definitely feel it still. i mean, if i just saw her idk do i still need to go back???

Can you see another specialist elsewhere?

I think that you should start afresh with this.

The concretions if present may not have been obvious to her.

You are entitled to a second opinion so I can only repeat my original advice otherwise you will continue to suffer until this problem is approached properly.

I do not know where you are based but I suggest going to a teaching hospital, an eye hospital where you can get several opinions at once. I am not a dr but it sounds like the condittion Ihad and it took five months to diagnose it was driving me nuts.

if itis not treated then you may get severe headaches. I do not wish to alarm you but I just wish someone had puskjhed me in the right direction much sooner.

The eye drops may be aggravatting the condition despite them being preservative free. They may be actually adding to the problem. Dry eyes is a serious condition and deserves a thorugh approach. Pls google eye concretions, dry eye syndrome and see the information that is available. I would go back but to another dr.

Update: I just looked in the mirror and actually did see a hair in my eye, I'm assuming from my dogs. I couldnt get it out so I flushed my eyes with water/more drops and it still won't come out!!! ugh, doesn't help that the hair is white and I cant see it. sad( also, the pink thing in the corner of my eye (not sure what its called) but its in the corner of the eye closest to your nose, it's inflamed and a little red with some white gooey looking spots on it.

I don't have the money right now for the doctor. I won't for another week either. I'm worried and don't want it to get worse, but i really dont have the money. sad
