Hi,I'm new to the forum and was diagnosed with LS back in February. It started in October when I was being treated for thrush and nothing was working so I lived with it.February I was so sore I went back to my gp who diagnosed me with this LS.She gave me steroid cream which did nothing.During lockdown it was getting so bad and sore.I called the gp last week and she had a phone consultation and said I had all the signs of a bad flare up.She gave me a base omoliant and dermavate to use at night. She said to use the omoliant after every toilet visit.Im still really sore and the entrance to my vagina feels rough and sore.I have lots of white patches. Can anyone confirm they have the same symptoms please.

Sorry to hear about your issues. My symptoms pretty much match yours. I have been diagnosed with every kind of condition over many years, with no treatments working. In the last year I was told I probably have LS, had a biopsy which was inconclusive, and continue to experience all of the symptoms.

I don't know if I can offer any ideas, although several people have made a strong case about controlling sugar (especially with any condition that might be thrush.) Makes sense to me, so perhaps that might be something for you to consider.

This site has been very helpful to me, although it is mainly women. For what it's worth, as a man I experience the same physical and emotional effects, so I value the sharing in this community. I wish you well.

    Hi...yes that sounds pretty stereotypic.

    1. If you have a bathtub, take a soak every night...at least 20 minutes.
    2. The use your dermovate...a pea sized amount is sufficient to cover the whole area - front to back. Not into the hairline. (did you get cream or ointment...cream can cause irritation)
    3. Use an antifungal with the steroid once a week (steroids can cause external yeast)
    4. Get some probiotic capsules. Take 2 at night 2 in am for about 3 days...then back off to 1 and 1...for about 4 more days. Then 1 a day for 7 days. Then take as necessary. This came to me from my dermatologist...Seems to help greatly.
    5. I was using a moisturizer after every toilet visit and it helped...but gawd...my undies and slacks were a mess. I've eased off and do a good slather in the am and not again. Seems to work for me. I mix coconut oil with pure vitamin e oil and that's my go-to.

Yes! I had everyone of these. I use the cream every night before bed. And after we have sex. Has helped a lot! It used to feel like shards of glass in my skin. Every movement hurt so much. I also got very bad and lost some of my vagina. My flaps are basically gone. But around my clitoris. Was very scary but sense then sex has been amazing for me. 100% no pain during sex. It is very scary, but this is something that you have to learn to accept and learn how to read the symptoms before a flair up. Also I stopped wearing underwear! I know gross 😟 but it has helped me with discharge and smelly area. I just wear underwear if I wear jeans!

    Hello Tracey!

i know from experience just how frustrating LS can be. It took 5 years of misdiagnoses to get the correct one.

I've learned that my sugar intake made my symptoms worse. So that was the first thing i did and i increased my water intake.

Though it stings a little, washer with Apple cider vinegar and water then applying castor oil eased the discomfort and cleared the symptoms up as well.

i recently started blackseed veggie caps for the past month and a half and the symptoms has lessened. The white spots are still there but they are painful like before.

im not a doctor but this is what worked for me,

    Be easy

    PEACE
