Last June, 2017, I decided I was not going to have any more babies, I already have 2 beautiful girls. I scheduled a tubal ligation. I told the Dr. that if for some reason she saw something in there that wasn't right, to go ahead and do what she needed to do. She just looked at me oddly and told me not to worry. I found out post op that only 1 of my fallopian tubes had ever developed! AND, that I only have 1/2 a uterus! My girls are miracles! Anyway, after the surgery, I was in so much pain. More than I thought I should have been but went with it anyway. My bladder hurt when it filled, my lower back was screaming at me. At times I could only walk while hunching over.

At my two week follow up, the Dr asked me why had said to her to take care of whatever she saw in there. I told her, I always have lower back pain, my pelvic floor feels heavy and pressured, sex hurts afterwards and such. She nodded and said "well that's because you have endometriosis. That all makes sense. After looking around at your insides, you've got a pretty good case of it too" sad

This news was shocking. I had always taken birth control but didn't want to take it anymore since I knew I was done having children. Needless to say, after surgery and no more birth control hormones, it explained my increased pain. I have recently started taking birth control again to try and regulate some of the symptoms. While it has helped some, it has not helped significantly. I'm even spotting in between periods. I'm concerned there might be more going on. She did mention to me about possibly having a partial hysterectomy however, she did say that there is endometriosis around my bladder as well. Hence the pain when my bladder fills too much.

I guess I'm just looking for advice and suggestions as to what to do. I've cut back on my 600 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day when needed to Naproxen twice a day when needed. I'm sure I could exercise more and eat better too. Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

    Hi there,

Quick question, during the tubal ligation, did your doctor scrape out the endometriosis? Because if not, the next option might be to get it scraped out.

Otherwise other things you can do to help with endo, from my own experience, working out has helped me so much. Swapping between arm days and leg days and going to the gym 4-5times a week, plus having the laparoscopy surgery, and the post surgery medication, I have never felt so good. Working out also suppresses my bad food cravings, so there's another plus, and i feel like cutting down on the junk has also helped. I honestly think laparoscopy is the best answer if you're no longer taking birth control, but speak with your doctor a bit further on that.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, i'm more than happy to help xx
