Night sweats?

I've had night sweats for while, randomly. Is this a myth with having herpes or does anyone else have this??

Night sweats are not a typical symptom of herpes.

Do you know if muscle or joint pain is? I was diagnosed with hsv1 last October. On valtrex out of fear. I feel like I've given myself anxiety. I constantly feel like I have a burning sensation and nothing is there.

Maybe around the first outbreak as part of the flu-like symptoms and some residual issues, but not continuous long-term muscle and joint pain. Daily meds aren't even required for gHSV1, btw, not unless you suffer from many recurrences, which is much less common with gHSV1.

You can have night sweats independently of herpes present or not.

However, night sweats indicate some other infections like mono, or cmv.

Do you have untnetional weight loss also and loss of appeitite, then consultation with a physician is required.

I have them due to my hormone imbalance, but maybe it goes along with the flu-like symptoms?

I get night sweats before or at the beginning of my outbreaks. I also get sweating spells (hot flashes) during the day. Once I begin medication therapy the sweating stops. At least it does act as an alarm for me that tells me I have an outbreak. Best of luck to you!

The actual night I got diagnosed with herpes I had a night sweat and was so scared but it only happened once. I checked for diabetes, TB and HIV which came back negative as I know these can be causes.

I'm thinking maybe I just had anxiety after being diagnosed as I was worried I could have something else.

Hi Georgina77297. Sounds like you had a lot to worry about. It probably does have do a lot to contribute to the sweating. Also as mentioned above it could be part of the "flu-like" symptoms that goes along with herpes. Hope all your tests came back negative. Personally I am also HIV +.

      Take care!!
