Night Sweats :(

Are night sweats normal with Sertraline? By that I mean are they a permanent side effect? I notice I often wake up drenched in sweat. Last night I had to take my vest off to dry myself. My whole body was covered.

This happens often, and even happens if I take a light nap in the day. I don't know if it's the heat, or the Sertraline, but my anxiety is telling me Cancer sad

I'm on 150mg.

Oh I also noticed I get very sweaty when I do anything. Probably attributed to the heat at the moment, but I seems to sweat excessively. I was putting the laundry away earlier and felt very sweaty and sticky all over and had to take my top off. I don't have the luxury of air con at home.

There's no other problems so it really confuses me.

    Hey James

When i first started on 150 i had terrible sweating at night, the sweat was so bad it was almost thick and left like a yellow stain on the sheets all over my body, was disgusting and we had to change the sheets every night, was like i was oozing a thick sweat, anyway after a couple of months it went away and just back to normal. Dont worry about it.

I hope it does go back to normal it's horrible. It's one of the side effects that I've noticed has remained when all the others seem to have gone away.

Did you also have excessive sweating during regular activities? The first week on 100mg I couldn't exercise because I would be soaked through. I still get more than usual sweating when lifting weights and jumping rope but I can work through it and shower after.

      Thank you for the reply.

I didn't feel like i had excessive sweating during the day but i sweat heaps anyway. As a side effect i would much rather have that night sweating than go back to how i felt before going on the sertraline so keep it up and a bit of sweat never hurt anyone 😀
