Night sweats in citalopram 7th week

Hi

So almost about to hit week 7 on 10mg cit. It’s been very up and down, but I have a new symptom. Night sweats. Especially after a vivid dream. This then makes me feel more anxious in the mornings and is waking me up very early between 4-5am. I’m also craving milk and I’m super thirsty. ( this maybe because if the sweats I know ) but I don’t know if small amounts of alcohol are causing this? I had 1 beer with lemonade and a glass of fizz yesterday because it was Christmas. Could it be just a side effect of cit? Or a reaction to alcohol. I’d rather not drink if it is. Tia.

Hi. I find I get very hot at night too. Also have odd dreams. When I feel.anxious I get very hot. I wouldn't have thought the alcohol would of done that as it was only a little. I am.on 20mg alongside with diazepam and I am.not.drinking at all. May be leave off the drink and see of it goes away. I'm on week 5 of cit and o am aware it's still early days. Maybe chat with your Dr after the Xmas break. X

It triggers my anxiety waking up so early. I wish it didn’t. Then the day is pretty much ruined after that. Plagued by bouts of heightened anxiety. Today has been one of them. I’m lucky I go to bed so early really. Although I’m not getting decent sleep atm.

I understand I've been up since before 5 and I've been worrying literally all day. I'm at work but I can't come concentrate. Good thing there aren't many people here today.

Some of the problems seem to be side effects of the medication, although it would seem the dose you are on is quite low.

One bottle of beer, with lemonade and a glass of fizz should not be any real problem.

Vivid dreams can be a problem, if they happen frequently see your GP. Is your GP going to increase the dose of your medication.

Let us know how you get on
