Night sweats on SERTRALINE

I'm on sertraline for over a year and it's been a life saver for me. I'm a 42 year old male.

My issue is that a few months ago I started sweating very much, usually at night. I wake up and my pillow and bed is soaking wet. I do get sort of hot flashes during the day also sometimes.

Is this normal?

I've been on sertraline for almost 10 weeks and I've had night sweats too. Some nights are worse than others. It probably started for me after a few weeks on the medication. I know it is a side effect of sertraline. Just had a check up a few weeks ago to see how I was doing on the medication and I brought up the sweating to my doctor who did confirm it's a side effect. I'm not sure why you would get that side effect now though after 10 months? Did you recently increase your dose? Either way I would mention it to your doctor. I feel pretty good on the sertraline so I guess I just have to deal with my night sweats.

    Good luck!

I did raise the dose but I'm not sure exactly when it started. I'm thinking that maybe it started about then but I didn't think it had to do with the med.

I was at the doctor today and thinks it is a side effect but took some tests just to be sure.

My doctor took some blood too just to be sure because I also lost a lot of weight. Everything came back normal. It's good your doctor is running tests to be sure. I'm sure it's just the sertraline but better to be safe!
