Night sweats started when I started taking Sertraline 50mg

Hello everyone! I'm new to talking to anyone on a forum but just feel like I need to talk with others that are going through the same problem I'm having. I started taking Sertraline this past Dec. 12th and have had issues with night sweats off and on. I went for a follow up with my Dr. and she told me that it doesn't cause night sweats but everything I've looked up says it does. I don't know what to do cause the med works great for my anxiety but hate having this problem. I was on Lexapro for 3 weeks before and had to change because that was causing issues with my sex drive. Being married that just doesn't work. Also has anyone experianced nipple tenderness? If anyone has any advice or can just tell me if this is all normal and nothing for me to worry about would be great!

The night sweat are very normal in the early weeks, I had this too, I would wake up completely soaking wet head to toe, but it only last a few eeeks and then goes away, the main thing is you feel better and you are sleeping, but it will diminish eventually. It’s actually a good sign that the meds are working.

What a relief! I can't wait til they stop! Last night was the worst i've had. i woke up with my shirt soaked and was disturbed by it. So have you had any problems with nipple tenderness? What's crazy is I've taken it before back when I was 32 and now I'm 45 and non of this has happened before.

I may have done, I really can’t remember, but as I’m writting this I actually think I did?? Again didn’t last long, the side affects seem to come in stages, for me stage one ( first week to 10 days) very high anxiety, spaced out , no appetite ,feeling and despair, no sleep, stage two was night sweats and patches where I felt good in the day then back to squatters one, stage 3 headaches every day that lasted about a week and a half, then I just felt that I was heavily medicated , difficult one to really describe although I was much better at this stage.

Then things all calmed down and I slowly got well.

Other people tend to notice things before you do, like my son said to me your not waking up crying anymore mum, and it was true, but the negative depressed me was but I’m still not well.
