Hiya - Sorry to hear that - I have just had my first biopsy and just being diagnosed after 2 years of going to the GP. It was painful but worth at as now at least I can try and get on with things.

I find when it is active and sore - luke warm bath with 4 cap fulls of TCP works brilliant to sooth and stop the itch. Total for the first time in years I had to buy a skirt as I could not have clothes touching me. The TCP has really helped tonight. You may want to give it a try.

Its a nightmare to live with I agree but at least it finally has a name and I don't think I am going mad.

I wonder if you have tried Oil a tum plus, in the bath. I soak for 10mins each day and it does help to relieve syptoms. This can only be prescribed by a doctor it's not the same as Oil a tum that you can buy.

Hi there..... Firstly try to use a soap free wash for your personal areas...something like Epaderm.. There are two types. I use the tub of a vasaline like paste which lathers up slightly and cleans you thoroughly....Dont use allways pads they have been known to annoy....I use carefree unscented......No talc at all...... A large number of us use Paladin cream ---on ebay in uk now.....this gives a barrier against wetness.. Sudacreme is ok but there are chemicals in that.Paladin is a little more benigne.....I have Synalar steriod cream and only use it sparingly when I flare but if you daily get used to washing with the cream...using your barrier cream and steroid perhaps twice a week once the soreness eases then you will feel better. I was in agony with the itch and burning etc., ...One or two small flares now in 6 months!!!!!!!! its high maintenance having this condition but you have to work at it at least twice a day and not soak in anything that is adetergent based or soap... it will help.......

Hi there, Have had this condition unbeknown to me for past 2 years, thought I was going crazy. Was diagnosed few months ago - but only found out when read in a letter to my g.p. which was copied to me. Read about paladin on this site and ordered it immediately from ebay - was here next day and what a relief. It's like magic - scared to use too much of the dermovite so this is a great find. Also for those intimate times i was given some gel to numb the area - i thought this would ruin the experience but on the contrary! Trouble is afterwards you do pay for it - but lets hope with the dermovite, the gel and the paladin maybe can keep a relatively normal - if not sporadic - sex life!! smile
