nine months on and rectocele/cystocele worse than ever!!!!

After nine months of pelvic floor physio and seeing different consultants to rule out other problems sadly I am no better with all of my symptoms from the rectocele and cystocele and will be going forward with the surgery in next few weeks.  The surgery will be vaginal without any form of mesh as the uro-gynae advises against that given many have encountered problems with the mesh although I have heard some good stories too.  I have been told surgery will be fairly robust and that I will need to rest for approx 6 weeks afterward.

I wanted to avoid surgery at all cost but simply cannot continue as I am as this is quite literally taking over my life with bladder/bowel issues, bloated tummy, pelvic pain ( left side) m nausea etc....  list is endless am just feeling awful in every sense.  I think every woman deserves an award for going through all this as it is something you cannot explain to someone who has never suffered... sad

If anyone has recently undergone surgery for prolpase I would be most grateful if they had anything to share or any words of encouragement as I am quite literally petrified about the surgery beyond means.  thank you much xx

hi ladies i wonder if any of you have had lower back ache and pelvis pain continually? i have had low back pain for months and i had a burning feeling in my bladder region, this was before i found the bladder had prolapsed... my doc said it wasnt severe however it comes right into my vagina... somethin told me to check inside to see if there was anythin else that had prolapsed.. and there it was a big lump of softness from my vaginal wall... and its quite big!! would this explain all my back ache and pelvis pain?? i am so depressed all i do is cry... i hvent been going to work and my little boy and husband have not been living with the same person... i am so scared as i have serious health anxiety and hate the doctors altho i been going ... he going to look at the rectocele tomoro... the pain in back and pelvis is vile i just never want to stand up... anyone else felt like this? x

The pain you describe jassy is typical of prolapse pain. People underestimate just how uncomfortable it can be.

thank u... its awful.. even when i press in my bladder region its tender for days and then dissappears... ovulation makes it worse as i ovulate for longer than the norm... when i stand up i can feel pain from pelvis and lower back... i had this for 5 months nearly and doctor couldnt work.it out when i told him my pelvis felt on fire like someone was burning me it was vile... i found it when i went to the toilet .. and then went back to docs he told me to do pelvic floors... i cant are how this is going to help as the bladder when i push is in the vagina and u can see it when i push.... i am only 35 ... and looks like rectocele as well.. i had a long birth with my son and pushed him.out in one go instead of stopping , also suffered terrible constipation oblver the years so no doubt all this has added to what is happenin to me...the pain is intense so my mind keeps tellin me its somethin very serious... pain can get u down xx

Hello ladies I hope you are all well and doing fine in your recoverys. Well I had my op on the 4th and 4 inches of my bowel was removed it was stuck to where my womb would of been, and it had gone narrow, and my appendix was removed as there was only a small pice remaining. (the conultant thought I had previously had it removed). I am hoping that this is it and an end to my problems. It is quite painful colicky cramps but at leat I can have a bm on my own lol. I had to be cut but its not that big and dont thnk it will be very noticible, matron is it wise to keep my kegal8 treatments to when I am all healed? I will keep you all updated and again regards to all of you.

Hello sarah. You've had quite a bit of surgery and on top of it all you've got an abdominal incision so you have to be extra cautious as far as exercise  is concerned. I would err on the side of caution and leave kegal8  treatments until around 10-12 weeks or until you have a post op check.

Hi I like to talk to anyone with the same problems. I been refused surgery as my rectocele is not mean't to not be that bad, its ruined my life I often feel like ending my life. Nearly 2 years on my rectocele is worse, no medical professionals have graded my rectocele.

hi everyone I’m new to the site and need advice please. I had a sacrocolpoplexy 2 years ago and now have rectocele bulge. Am  using kegel ultra 20 which doesn’t seem to be improving my symptoms after 10 weeks

I had a hysterectomy 20 years ago and an anterior vaginal wall repair 10 years ago, the latter has been successful.

Just struggling with bowel emptying and some days the bulge is worse than others.

Should I go back to see Mr Broome who did my sacrocolpoplexy or persevere with kegels?

    Fed up with gynae surgery.

Please advise on consultation or management. Thank you
