Nissen fundiplication

hi its looking like i might need to have an op called NISSEN FUNDIPICATION can anyone shed light on this anyone have it done i suffer severe heatburn now and my meds been on for 30 plus year are not working no longer..Is this op worth getting done wots the benifits no more heartburn hopefully i fear of things not being the same inside once they have been in messing about inside your body anyone reading this whos had it done would be very intresting hearing your storys no one seems to anawer me back when i asked about a posific subject just pretty scared and reaching out ... thanks for reading guys..

    I've not had the surgery yet ( been waiting for 3yrs!). I've had it cancelled 3 times by the hospital, but have been given a new date in October, so fingers crossed I'll finally get the surgery!!

    I think you have to weigh up the pros and cons for yourself depending on how severely it affects your quality of life. for me the decision is easy - I'm impacted so severely by night time vomiting and regurgitation and then inhaling my stomach contents as it wakes me, which in turn causes severe asthma attacks and nasty chest infections including severe aspiration pneumonia twice where I've ended up in hospital for weeks on end on a ventilator fighting for my life! so, for me it's a necessity...
