No big improvement on 30 so Dr increased to 40. Reassurance Please

I was on 30 celexa for years before but still had morning anxiety but no depression. Had to go off for 3 weeks due to sodium scare and panic came back with a vengeance with depression. I was slowly put back on celexa over months and 30 didn't do it so Dr just increased me to 40 almost a week ago. So badly want to just be me again. I have no motivation, intrusive (not violent) thoughts about my relationships with my family (which cause me deep distress and scare me to death. I know it is just anxiety but OMG) just want to be me again. So scared if 30 didn't work, why would 40? Ugh. Just don't understand any of this.

can I ask how long you were on each dose before increasing. as the second time takes a lot longer to work. I'm 10 weeks into 30mg and still no improvements but it really does take longer the second time round x

    I know a few people who didn't feel relief until 40mg. when 30mg didn't work x

8 weeks each but once Dr. Did all tests to make sure my low sodium levels weren't caused by any medical issues, just that i was very sick, flu and food poisoning and uti (drink water they say) bye bye sodium! 30 mg was goal, what i was on for years. It just didn't take that morning anxiety away he put me to 40.

I had to get the Dr involved as GPs weren't going past 15 as celexa can lower sodium!

I have heard it can lower sodium x 8 weeks is so early on a dose especially the second time round x I know people not seeing any improvements way past 8 weeks.

plus morning anxiety is for most people the last to go because its linked to your cortisol levels which is higher in the mornings x

I would have given it more time x atleast 12-16 weeks for morning anxiety to go. it can even take longer than that for a lot of people.

sorry if my reply doesnt make sense. brain fog hitting hard tonight 😬

Yeah i understand that, however 30 did good for me for years but not 100%. He felt that 40 would take me to 100%. Then after a year, we will start lowering back slowly. I just want to be me again and i understand it takes time but it is damn hard, as you well know too!
