No breaststroke for me!

Dear All

Before my total hip replacement failed I was swimming something over half a mile every other day so now that I'm walking on the revised hip I asked my physio when I could start swimming using the breaststroke and firmly told not until six months post op. Will have to learn to do something different with my legs!

Cheers Richard

    Hi Richard,

You are doing so well, it's a shame you cannot do your breast stroke for 6 months but it will fly by, I probably would in your position maybe speak to the receptionist at your local pool to see if you could get in a few lessons to learn a different swimming stroke to keep you going in the interim, wishing you the best.

      Dear Lulu

Thanks. Yes that is a good idea which I will follow up on shortly. Swimming really did help me retain my fitness over the months leading up to my hip failing. I need to prepare for the total ankle replacement revision on the other side and that is going to be full of difficulties.

      Cheers Richard
