No damage, no erosions, no hernia - what then?

Right, I'm posting both here and in abdominal disroders in the hope that someone can tell me what on earth is going on with me because I'm really looking at dying as the only option to elliviate me from this hell hole. So tired of not getting better.

I've had an endoscopy, suppodesdy the gold standard test to review if there are any problems with my esophagus and digestive tract. This has shown absolutely no erosions, no hernia, no inflammation what-so-ever and the gastro told me to discontinue the idea of GERD or a hernia from  my head as he doesn't think this is a problem for me at all.

I have however been diagnosed with constipation, fecal loading and a colon that contracts and causes abdominal pain. I've mentioned this as I don't know if it will be relevant with the problems I'm having higher up.

Right, so lets get to the problems I have higher up.

In between meals (never after I've eaten) I get what starts as a tickle, almost like there's dust or something tickling my throat and esophagus. Then I feel the need to cough which is a dry cough.

I'll then feel breathless and have some chest presence and sensitivity.

I absolutely do not get heartburn at all and have told there is no damage in my esophagus and it's very unlikely I have GERD.

SO WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THEN?

I've really had enough.

Any responses will be helpful.

Thank you

Have you had a Barium swallow test to see whether you have a swallowing difficulty. Dysphagia or achalasia could mean food is not getting to your stomach properly and some is entering the respiratory tract instead?

Hi, the gastro said I don't need one even though I begged! I imagine this is very costly if done privately?

I have Mild Reflux/Gastritis, mild sinus and anxiety.  Yes, is all mild. ;-)   They even told me all I needed was OTC for my symptoms but put me on PPI's anyway which I have take 4 different with no improvement.  I feel heaviness under the chest-bone and hoarseness and heavy breathing.  No heartburn just like you and I sleep well. Actually, when I lay back I breath better so sleeping is the best time for me. ;-)  I agree with Barret, I had a Barium Swallow test done and they found mild reflux on my esophagus and my ENT found irritation under my throat/vocals which could be the same reflux. I'm going t see my ENT on Friday and I highly believe I'm low in acid, not high so I'm going to ask for a Heiderberg Capsule test and ask them about LRP.  I already had a PH monitoring which showed very mild reflux. I saw my Pulmo the other day and he also believe is the reflux the problem even if is mild.  For me I believe the symptoms is a combination of my sinus, reflux and anxiety.  My symptoms starts early in the morning and ends at night progression from mild to moderate during the day so it appear to be aggravated by food.

I'd love to have a a Barrium swallow but Gastro said there was no point as he doesn't think it will show anything. I'm so frustrated with all of this. It's like the person before never existed.

Correction, going to see my GI on Friday to see if they can order the capsule test and ask her about LRP.

Have you had your chest and respiratory tract checked out, it might be youve abdominal problem, but also possible and upper respiratory tract problem. l was diagnosed with allergic rhinitus many years ago, one of the main symptoms, for me at least, we on breathing in at times it felt like dust or grit in my throat, set me off on coughing bout, dry cough, at worst l could vomit with it to clear the airways, For some its more congestion in nose, eyes, even ears, and it can affect breathing, mine led to asthma after a while causing breathlessness, maybe your gp has checked you with it being obvious symptoms of dry throat and cough, if not worth seeing gp or ent consultant.  lve also gastritus, so possible both problems aggrevating, Have you tried decongestants, nasal sprays, inhaling steam, trying lozengers when irritation starts, dysphagia does cause simular symptoms. good luck.

Update:  GI gave up on me, she said to try this and if it does not work then she can't do anything for me.  WOW, this is the 2nd Doc the last 2 months that basically gave up on me.   She put me on Carafate 10ml 3 times daily and famotidine 40mg once daily at night.  5th day and nothing. ;-( Will take it for 60 days.  Found another GI highly recommended so I'll have a 2nd opinion very soon. Symptoms are not getting better and they are actually worse. ;-( I even saw a specialist for carcer which said I don't have cancer. ;-)  One question, I'm taking Carafate Liquid 10ml, can I also drink water with it?
