no diagnosis, but I think I may have hs.

I have been having lumps, abscess, pimples in groin and buttocks. This has happened occasionally through the last 30 yrs. , but now it's like a constant. Always something ......tender lump, pus draining, blood or fluid leaking., itching. Not a lot of real pain just sensitive and a a nuisance. Doctor said "acne". But wouldn't it go away?

Hi in my experience doctors know very little about HS.  The only way to get  proper diagnosis and the most expert treatment is to see a dermatologist.  Tell your doctor you want a referral.

I must admit with HS there is usually a lot of pain so maybe it is acne?  But whatever a dermatologist would be able to identify what it is.  They are there for all skin problems including acne.  x

Lumps, abscess and draining sounds like HS. Most dermatologists even expert ones haven't been able to help me much.

But they will try a few drugs and they might work for you, worth a shot. I had a massive one on my bottom which got operated on and since then I've had a bit of a remission in other areas...

So... Worth getting some of it fixed if you can and the rest might improve

Thank you for your input. I have felt that I must be the only one for so long dealing with this stuff. Lots of depression and anxiety in the past 30 years. At least now I don't think I'm dying all the time!
