ok so here goes,
I'm hoping that someone somewhere can help shed some much needed light.
my husband for the last 10 to 12 weeks has been suffering with explosive diarrhoea and severe cramps, he can go up to 8 times a day, has blood in his poo at times, hes had blood tests for infections came back all clear, hes had stool samples for parasites came back all clear hes has a colonoscopy has come back clear biopsies guess what came back clear, so why is he in so much pain nearly all the time and has constantly having to sit on the loo ?
anyone have any ideas ???

Has IBS been mentioned since nothing has shown up? Does he notice any triggers such as food or stress? Has he tried a food diary?

Have the doctors mentioned IBD , which is ulcerative colitis or crohns disease ,that is a common condition which causes painful cramps and diarrhea ,... Ischemia of the gut could be the cause or stomach polyps which also has blood in the stool ... I hope yall find the cause very soon . Best wishes

Sorry to hear that. I myself have bad cramps every single day. Seen couple of GI specialist and run multiple procedures but non conclusive diagnosis but suspected IBS since they can't find anything. Your husband can try low fodmap diet and see if it helps to relieve his pain. On the blood part, he might want to check if he had hemorrhoids or it can also be due to the excessive diarrhea (laceration around rectum) these are just my assumption based on my personal experience and I'm not a medical professional, best to still hv a proper consultation with specialist

I had inconclusive tests and was diagnosed with IBS too because nothing else was found. This is the usual way of identifying IBS.

If he has colonitis there is prescription anti-biotics which can cure it in one week. Otherwise there is over the counter Loperamide for diarrhea, but not a cure.
