No full range... Is it a problem?

Hi all

I'm 10 weeks post LTHR and feeling good. The only thing I'm struggling with is full range movement. I can't pull my bent knee to my chest, or turn it fully out (left to right should lying down). Consequently I still struggle with shoes.

I know I shouldn't look at others progress but I am concerned that I'm seizing up and won't ever get full range back!

Help!

Any advice gratefully taken

Thanks

I never managed full range until I increased my count in the exercises to 10 then 15. When I only held then for 5, I could not manage to keep extending the stretch.

It might be worth trying this or seeing a PT or athletic therapist who can help you 'extend' your rangge.

    Good luck.

I am only 3 weeks post op so not got that far... but suggest you lay flat and slide the leg out, did you get physio why not contact them.

i'd say that was normal- it took me several weeks after restrictions ended at 12 weeks before I had full use of the joint - the muscles had stopped moving to those places.  Slowly I was able to put on socks, then tie shoelaces normally again.

I have never been able to bend right down since my first thr, then that got worse after a had knee replaced as well.  I use a sock puller on, and ask someone else to tie laces it's such a nuisance but I am 73!
