No idea what to do.

Hi,

I was diagnosed by a Rheumatolagist two years ago. No follow up just a letter to say tests didn't show arthritis as orginally thought but did confirm fibro. Apart from the pain these past two years which I have managed with co-codamol, tramadol and oromorph - these past three months things have got intolerable - sleeplessness, sweating till I am soaking wet, weight gain which is really getting me down , very muddled thinking, very weird thinking, anxiety - I just put up with it cos I am that  type of person but now I can't. Can anyone tell me if these symptoms are typical with fibro. I should also add that I am very up and down - depressed one minute up the next. Thank you in advance

look up the side effects of the medications that you are taking you could find that symptoms are linked or made worse by them. . i gained weight  and sweat terriable i go to bed packed like a grate of cod , two chillo mats ,and ice blocks that you put in picnic bags, its the only way i can get to sleep, during the day if i have to go out in summer i put an ice block under my arm pit , other wise i just get so hot i feel faint,

depresion and anxiety are also linked to fibro but can also be made worse by medication, so i would say all your symptoms are linked to fibro ,but could be made worse by some meds. i went the alternative route because of this , i seem to be pretty steady at the moment, no worse then any one talking strong meds

lets face it prozac carries a warning could cause depression . and altered thought patterns .

    Hi, Dorothy,

I had the symptoms some time ago but then I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and after I started taking hormone supplements it got better, so it might be worth checking. It seems the two conditions often go together.

Hi, I have all those symptoms but Tina is right you should get your meds checked.  Who are you getting your meds from? Mine were all prescribed by my gp but on the recommendation of the Rheumatologist. I would go have a chat with your gp and ask for a referral to another Rheumatologist, there will be more than one in your area.

    Take care
