no problems with co-codamol

I find it interesting reading all the posts about people having problems with cocodamol. I have been on them for probably 15 years. I was originally on ibuprofen as a result of widespread pain but had to be taken off when I was put on omeprazole as you cannot be put on both at the same time. I was prescribed 8/500 4 pd initially and then about 10 years ago I was put on 30/500 4 times pd. I actually only taken them twice per day in the morning to help me get moving, and at night to help with sleep and getting ready for bed. I can honestly say I have never had any side effects and have never been tempted to take more than I should.
I am definitely not addicted. Last year I was taken off them twice for a week each time following operations and I did not suffer any withdrawal symptoms. My question is why have I had no problems with co-codamol when so many people on here have major problems with addiction and side effects and and are desperate to get off them.

Yes, I must be. Very fortunate. I think until I came on this forum I thought every one was like me because I don't know anyone who has bad side effects from co-coda mol. I am actually on 10 different tablets per day (about 20-22 tablets in total) because I have 6 different long term health conditions which require medications (plus another 4 that don't,) and over the years have probably had another five medications long term and I have only had bad side effects from one which was metformin for diabetes and many other people have side effects from it. It does make me wonder if certain conditions make you more likely to have side effects and addictions. Perhaps research needs to be done into it.
You are right, I am fortunate and will go to bed tonight feeling very thankful
