No sex drive since restarting sertraline and lots of side effects

I have recently started taking sertraline again and I’ve completely lost my sex drive. I have been with my partner 5 years and it is really affecting me not having no sex drive all the time I feel guilty tht I am not satisfying my partner. We are both young I am 25 and he is 28. Last time I was taking sertraline my partner was in prison (don’t ask) so I didn’t notice the low sex drive as sex was non existent anyway.  I am really struggling this time round with side affects and I’ve been taking them about 7 weeks so far. Last time I came of them cold turke and it was horrendous I dont what to do. I’m suffering with hot sweats and a dodgy stomach continuously since taken these tablets. My anxiety increases when I get hot and flustered. I just don’t remember side effects being this strong last time I took them. Does anyone Else have these issues ? Thank you x

    Hey,

I experienced the same thing on Sertraline, my libido was completely gone. The thought of anyone touching me or having sex was completely off putting. This is a normal side effect for Sertraline. It prevents the hormones that cause our bodies to respond to sex from transmitting their message to our brains. Simply put, antidepressants can turn the dial down on our sex drives. Mine didn't subside until I stopped taking them. Hopefully when your body regulates your libido will return.
