Hi Mary, sorry to hear about your problem. As people who read this board will know, I sometimes still write about the fact that I have not had an orgasm for 5 years since my TVH. I do this so that anyone can think twice before undergoing this operation in case they can have other procedures. I have tried a few things but without success because I believe the surgeon has severed major nerves. But you could try HRT patches of estrogen and progesterone and if you are in the US or Australia, testosterone gel. If you can get a blood test for hormones it could be that they have reduced a lot. I have also tried DHEA cream. All these things helped me with desire but I can no longer get the end result. I have been told to do pelvic floor exercises, so obviously it must be my fault!!! I am somewhat bitter as you can guess. And no it's not 'all in my head'. I do hope you are fine in the end.

FIVE years! That's crazy! Funny how nobody mentions that before the surgery

They won't take ownership of it Mary, a nurse told me that it's a case of if you are OK so be it and if you're not so be it but the surgeons don't care and aren't interested in finding out what went wrong. When I went for my 6 week check up I knew there was something wrong but tested the waters with the surgeon and said I hadn't tried the old love life yet. He looked straight on the floor and wouldn't answer. I was expecting him to say everything would be fine. I have half a theory that he thought I was too old to be interested in sex and basically didn't take care taking the uterus out. I had an anterior repair at the same time. When I think I will never have an orgasm again I just want to burst into tears. It has affected my relationship of course and we are not as close now. I am sure with the right hormones you will be OK. Testosterone might be the key and if you are in the UK you can possibly get it privately. Fingers crossed for you

I'm glad you're in Canada Mary, I believe they are more liberal there with meds unlike the UK. Sending positive vibes. Keep us posted x
