I can't sleep at night and I stay up till like 2pm every morning then fall asleep. I can never go to sleep early and I'm always tired and my body wants to but I force myself to stay up so I don't wake up with a rushing heart, feeling like i cant breath, and even dizzy. I hate it ughhhh. The bad thing is that I have to wake back up at 6 am so I get hardly any sleep. Am I the only one????

Ya that Anxiety alright, don't let it freak you out. That feeling in your chest is known as fight or flight. You can help to combat it with excersise, breathing and even just a better frame of mind. It takes time though. Breathing from the belly is a great way to deal with that feeling. And any excercise is great so long as you break a sweat. If you practice these things while awake. They should help with your sleep later. But if you still feel your mind racing, and uneasy feeling telling you to stay awake. Sometimes the best and only thing you can do, is focus on your breathing. Also don't force yourself to sleep and don't get angry with yourself either. Its OK! it really is ok that your mind isint letting you sleep, that your chest is telling you to be afraid. It sucks in the moment and it makes you feel like you have tripped and can't get up. But the truth is all of these things are signs. Signs that you need to cope with your stress. And you do that by letting yourself know its ok to relax, its ok to take a moment just for you to be calm. To enjoy a moment all your own. Show your mind and body that these imagined fears are nothing to worry about. But to do that you gota take the time to love yourself and be kind to yourself. Not being able to Sleep is a big part of raw Anxiety and it was one of the first things I suffered from when I had my first attack. If all els fails. Always ALWAYS forgive yourself and don't beat yourself up for how your feeling. Focus on breathing, in and out in and out, and if your mind wonders, to anything, let it happen then kindly remind yourself to focus on breathing again. Learn this and you can calm yourself down in almost any situation. BREATH. its a great thing ^^ I hope your able to get to sleep soon! And remember! See a doctor and let them know about these things. They can help!

Have you ever worn a holter monitor. Its a 24hr ekg machine. Then you can go to sleep it will react on the monitor and awaken u and you click the button. Then doctor can see whats happening. The other alternative is meds. Or Alternative meds but you need sleep to function.

During high anxiety I got little sleep, but got up and went about my day.  That way I would more tired when I went to sleep.  It is important for us to follow a routine, waking at the same time everyday, and going to bed at the same time.  Using aromatherapy, lavender scents, helps.  Make your bed only for sleeping as best you can.  If you can't sleep best to get out of bed, and occupy your mind till your tired.

For the last month that anxiety has first appeared i experience the same thing. I cant sleep all night long. I feel so tired but nothing..my brain seems to not be able to relax. My body wants to rest but my mind is always working thinking and thinking and thinking. I usually sleep every two nights. Before this month i slept for all my life both after lunch and in the evening without any problem. I am so distressed now that this has happened to me. So you are not the only one..
