No spouse visitors allowed on unit

Hi my wife is having a colonoscopy & endoscopy at the MRI next week. She is anaemic due to chronic disease & GP asked her to take FIT test which produced a low referral score - hence why she is having the procedures. We haven't spoken to nurses yet about prep, stopping her RA drugs week before etc but we noticed that the MRI don't allow spouses (visitors) to accompany patients onto the unit. I would have liked to be there whilst she's booked in just to reiterate things such as 'please be careful positioning her because of her joint damage in elbow and wrists'. Hopefully nurse will note all this when they do telephone call. Does anyone know why spouses can't accompany patients at booking stage? Is it simply space & patient modesty ( which I understand, by the way.) Just worry that my wife needs care being moved & prodded. Thanks!
