No stock of orlistat !!!!

I have read today no more stock until september - just what i needed to know - NOT !!

can they not just say yes its coming back or no its not instead of every month saying its coming next month

Hi I took these 2 years ago and lost 2 stone in two months it was great to lose it for my sons wedding ..

GP only allowed me to have them for 6 months ..during this time my cholesterol also dropped to 4 so good all round..

But the weight has gradually crept back on and now Ive just been prescribed them again .. my cholesterol is now borderline high at 5.7 ..Im not physically able to exercise much so this drug is really helpful for me.

I went off to local Boots yesterday only to be told that the pharmacist had just phoned to find out why there was no stock of Orlistat(xenical) coming in and they said they could not obtain one of the ingredients and they had no idea when this product could be made again . (Im in Essex) If anyone knows a pharmacy that has them I would love to know.

Have you tried the website - hardtogetmedicines ? Will dispense prescriptions and is legit

Hi Jenny I put that in Google hardtogetmedicines and it came up with hardtofindmedicines ..is that the same thing?

I phoned them and they said its a packaging issue and they dont have any in stock either..

I told them that my local pharmacy said it was an igredient they couldnt get hold of and she said they will phone them and check again ..and to ring back after 3pm.

Yes it's the same site. I got my meds this morning only posted my prescription off Friday, not Orlistat though. Mine is for depression, one of the older ones.

Thanks Jenny Ive asked all the local pharmacies and the online ones in UK that take a prescription ..but looks like I will just have to be a patient, patient.

i have just phoned my chemist and have been told they have been given a date of the beginging of june i was told it would be probably the generic teva orlistat at least it is one of them and i am not going to bank on this

@wayne2012 thats great news, fingers x'd !! I wish every where would say the same thing, everyone saying something different all the time - cant keep up with it !!

Thats so true if only we knew for sure what the problem was.. and when for definite it would be available on prescription again.

I'm so glad I have a few boxes of orlistat.

stock is really limited everywhere, there is a real problem trying to get hold of it, i will be very surprised if we see it on our shelves at all !!!!

Hi i started it in march and ran out, i have spoken to roche who produce it and they have said that they should get an update somewhen this week, all the online places that are saying they have it, this is impossible as there is none being produced, as to yet there is no eta for it but they are hoping it wont be long if you ring 01444256000 they will be able to help you. clare

I spoke to the pharmacist in an Asda store in Northumberland yesterday and she said she was told it would now be June for the pills to be through. They keep on changing the goalposts, so we will just have to be extr a patient and keep to the low fat diet and exercise, although I am having cartilage trouble, so that puts paid to some exercise!!

I know that feeling i had mine removed 4 years ago and still have trouble on cold days and when i have done alot of exercise, hopefully roche should get a date today of what is happening. Thing is there is so many people wanting them they are just going to disapear from the shelfs again arent they.
