No stones just not functioning

Hi everyone. Hoping to find a couple of people that issues closely mirror mine.

I had ultrasound, no stones, sludge it thickening. HIDA scan showed its only functioning at 19%

My main symptom is nausea. It's just awful if I do not control my fat intake. Also a general feeling of unwell. I have had nausea for years with no explanation until now. Recently suffering with Reflux too.

For people who have nausea and reflux as main symptoms, was your gallbladder not functioning or were there stones, etc.

How are you post surgery nausea and reflux gone?

Hi heather! I have the same symptoms but with very bad pain! And yes i had 0% function. Even after the surgery i have the same symptoms and sometimes they are worse than it was before. Hope you get some sort of relief soon!

Hi Heatherc. I did not have stone either. Polylup and a cyst which was considered abnormal. I experienced pain in my upper stomach and upset stomach a lot. After removed no more pain and two dr stated it could have been my gallbladder not working and that I never had acid reflex which is what the dr thought I had. Best of luck!

hi heather, i didn't have stones and was functioning at 26%. i also experienced the general unwell feeling you describe and the nausea progressively got worse. each day that passed, i felt worse and worse until i finally felt like i needed to go to the ER - for the first time in my life. post surgery, my nausea and gallbladder pain is gone. however, i am now dealing with complications from surgery, but completely unrelated to my digestive track.

    is your surgery scheduled soon?

Thank you for the responses!! I meet with surgeon 9/20. I just had a major surgery 8 weeks ago, I have an 8 inch incision on my abdomen. The LAST thing I want is to have another surgery. Really wish I had addressed nausea earlier. Chalked it up to dealing with my very rare vascular issues.

The reflux is new since this surgery, and I even have blisters in my throat.

    Hi Heather,

I'm 2 1/2 wks post-op - I did have stones, but my main symptoms were nausea and very bad reflux. That was what made me go for my Ultrasound initially. I feel 100% better since my surgery and the best part is no more nausea and acid reflux. Wishing you the best of luck!

Laurie. Thank you very encouraging. I am not sure if the reflux is from gallbladder or a result of my recent major abdominal surgery. So afraid that the reflux because this is new since recent surgery has nothing to do with gallbladder.

Did your doctor explain to you why the gallbladder wasn't functioning? Is it due to an autoimmune disorder?

Elizabeth no, this was not mentioned. Though this is interesting as I have other autoimmune disorders. I will have to ask GI dr his thoughts on this.
