No urge to urinate

Hello and help please!

I've gone from frequent urination with strong urges to no great urge at all.

I still have some flow and it has happened after having the feeling of constantly wanting to urinate all the time with very strong urges to this, no urge in about 4 to 7 days. What could it be?

To give background, may be lengthy so sorry but here goes...

Suspected I've had prostate issue for ages but coped as could drink at 10pm tea or chocolate and only get up once or twice. This went on for years. In recent months it got bit worse but still coped, however 7 days ago found i was getting up 3 times. 2 days later noticed i had hernia inguinal rh side, (and rh testicle lower than left). Then from the night of noticing the hernia, urine symptoms got worse for about 7 days with frequent almost constant urination feeling and urinating more often. 5 times at night with no sleep and feeling like i could go all the time despite less drinks (no tea after 6pm).

After 7 days i saw dr, he examined me and thinks yes hernia but says testicles seem normal despite right hand side being lower.

he put finger in to check prostate and said slightly enlarged.

Ever since then, saw dr yesterday, as i say, ive gone from the frequent feeling of wanting to urinate to having no feeling. i can wee but only as i try to, not because i get the urge.

i have no idea if the hernia was new and just happened or been there a short time or a long time before...

please help!!!

(waiting on urine test in case infection and full blood test 3 bottles).

What you report is a SUDDEN loss of urgency to urinate.

There are two general types: obstructive and non-obstructive.

    OBSTRUCTIVE

An obstruction (for example, kidney stones), means urine cannot flow freely through the urinary track.

    **

    NON OBSTRUCTIVE**

Can be due to a weak bladder muscle and nerve problems that interfere with signals between the brain and the bladder. If the nerves aren’t working properly, the brain may not get the message that the bladder is full.

I suggest you read up about these two possibilities, try to decide which one is the case in your situation and see your GP for further investigation.

    Good luck.
