Nocturnal Emission Question

Hi, I'm a 42 year old guy and every so often, about once or twice a month, I have a wet dream or nocturnal emission during sleep. These are usually accompanied by a sexual dream and I always wake up with a semenal mess in my pyjamas. I had my first nocturnal emission when I was almost 16 although the frequency was greater then than what it is now. I don't mind too much having wet dreams but are they still normal in men my age as I thought that usually these episodes petered out after the mid-late 20s or so. I also sometimes have erections in the early hours (morning wood) but have heard that this occurs with guys of all ages. Also I have never had sexual intercourse yet so as I am a virgin, would that make a difference to me having nocturnal emissions or the frequency of them occuring. Thanks for reading but I just wanted reassurance that I am still sexually healthy!

The facile answer is "lucky you"!  You describe the sensation perfectly; I remember them from boarding school.

The answer to your question really is that it is not abnormal.  You don't say whether you masturbat much but if it troubles you you could try masturbating more!  In effect your sexual organs are full and are finding release [simplistic I know]

Hi there simonthethird, thanks for your reply and for putting my mind to rest so to speak - I'm normal, Yay! Yeah, I usually masturbate once a week occasionaly twice a week. I dunno if I'd have that much more time to masturbate more frequently as I'm kind of happy masturbating at the rate I do occasionally to free soft porn on the internet but mostly to some adult girly mags I've had a while back.

Thanks so much again for replying so quickly and for your answer that I'm now looking forward to my next nocturnal emission... So, here's to my next wet dream!

Hi,   Nocturnal Emissions can occur at any age and are normal. When the semen level builds up, nocturnal emissions is the bodys way of releasing the build up. Masturbation is one way to keep the semen levels in check.

I returned from holiday yesterday and didn't have a chance to masturbate which meant that I hadn't done so in nearly 2 weeks! Well sure enough last night I had quite an intensely sexual wet dream... Before I say what happened in the dream, in real life when I was around 26 or so and taking a shower at my sports club, 2 attractive girls around 19-21 years old came into the mens changing room looking for their boyfriends who they expected to be the only guys left in the room. Instead, I was the only person left in there taking a shower and both girls saw me totally naked, said sorry and told me they were looking for their boyfriends. At the time I was only a little embarrassed and wasn't too bothered that the girls had seen my penis.... Well in the dream I had I was in the same changing room, naked and the two girls were there sitting on the bench. I needed to go for a pee and one of the girls offered to hold my penis for me while the other watched. This felt very exciting as I gushed out my pee into the urinal I felt myself ejaculate when I woke up to a wet and stickly mess in my pyjamas. It was a great wet dream and it obviously happened because my testes needed a release!
