Noise in ears

I have started having a high pitch noise in my ears intermittently throughout the day. Has anyone else experienced this on sertraline and if it's a side effect, will it eventually wear off?

Thanks

Yes, also had it when I was on cymbalta. Had ears tested, no problems. Definately related to tablets

Some days are really bad. Its constant and affects my concentration and my tolerance to noises is now really bad. Have to learn to live with it I'm afraid.

I have that problem too. Had my ears fully tested. It's the meds.

I have it too. Started 3 weeks ago upon restarting zoloft at .25mg, after a 2.5 month withdrawal from trying to get off it. Seems to be in one ear only however it almost seems like it's coming more from my head. The affected ear also does not like loud or irritating noises that the other ear has no problem with. Hearing test came back ok. Ear exam came back ok. Next will be an MRI. I read that ear ringing can occur either when starting or withdrawing from zoloft. I do not know if it can go away or not. I'm not expecting mine to go away. The noise is constant and I get occasional loud tone ringing on top of that which lasts about 10 seconds.

I have been on Sertralin 50 mg for about 10 years and then left it during taking tab and also during the withdrawal and even now I have bad ringing in my both ears better than when I was taking the tablets. I have not checked my ears but it drives me crazy I try to ignore it, i have not had this symptoms before taking medication. I do not know it will go away or not.

I read that ringing in the ears/head is a symptom of anxiety and I certainly had it before starting the medication.  I still have it now 16 days in, sometimes worse than others.  When I relax in bed I don't notice it so maybe it goes then. Best not to stress about it, hard I know.

Back in February it's what totally freaked me out and stopped me taking 50mg Sertraline 4 days in. The ringing hasn't gone away in 9 months since but it's not as troublesome now as it was back then. I have since started on Citalopram instead which has made a positive difference. I also got the all clear from an MRI scan so it's clearly been the medication. Remember though that it's the anxiety which is the greater enemy of the two and for sure the tinnitus is a lot more manageable when the anxiety is under control. It's awful when the two are together and It can become a self fulfilling prophecy.
