Non Disclosure to patient before operation

Dermatologist suspected lymph node in superclavical area of neck. After FNA results of test not clear, pathologist suggested growth could be a nerve tumour and further investigation needed, as a nerve was touched twice during FNA.

Following a CT scan also not being clear, surgeon proceeded with operation without any disclosure of possible nerve tumour to patient. This plastic surgeon was recommended by dermatologist for removal of a basal cell on patient's leg at the same time.

After growth removal, damaged nerves prevented left hand not working. Later pathology of removed growth showed it was a schwonnoma tumour.

As no disclosure of possible nerve tumour to patient so no opportunity to request a specialist nerve surgeon, was operative surgeon lacking in duty of care when a red flag was raised by the pathologist of the CT scan of possible nerve tumour but no notice of this was given or discussed with the patient before the operation?

Please answer or if this is posted in wrong section, please suggest another forum that may be able to give opinion.

Many thanks
