Non iron related anaemia

Hello all,

I am finding it very difficult to find information for anaemia that is not related to iron intake or stores of iron. I have life long anaemia and in my early years it was always believed to be due to lack of iron, but I could never remember perking up when intake was increased for long periods.

As I entered mid life I made the effort to go and see a Haematologist, actually two, and both of them came back and said that I have very good iron stores, the issue is my bone marrow and that it is not efficiently producing red blood cells. Cancer has been ruled out.

So my thought was; can I change my diet and avoid foods that increase the rate of red blood destruction. But ongoing searches just keep returning foods and lifestyle changes to increase iron levels, this will have no effect on me.

So I was hoping that someone may have already found some good information targeting my type of anaemia?

Thank you
