Non-obstructing stone pain?

For three months I have been having a sharp stabbing pain in my lower right abdomen/groin area.  I initially went to a GYN thinking it was related to my cysts, and because it seems to be more painful during my period, but was told the pain was too low for a cyst and thought it was an inguinal hernia.  So she referred me to a surgeon, who felt around it and concluded that I tore a ligament or pulled a muscle since I'm so active and do crossfit, and to take a month off of exercising to let it heal.  I did, and was still having pain.  I returned to my normal doctor with concern and they did an ultrasound, which found a cyst on my left side and not my right, so they recommended a CT scan.  I had that done yesterday, and my results came back normal, but with a "Non-obstructing 3mm right mid pole renal stone."

Is this the reason behind my pain that I have been having my my lower right side/groin area since March? If so, I drink plenty of water (about a gallon a day at least) and drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar daily, shouldn't I have passed it by now? I am having the pain again in my inguinal area today.

A stone can site in a wide area and not try to pass down for long periods so you will not experience any pain whilst it is there. However, if and when it decides to try to move down, this is when the pain can kick in.

It can move back up again to and you might wonder if you if passed it without noticing because the pain has disappeared, or you might forget about it. Many people have stones that are in non-blocking locations and they don't give any symptoms.

If it is to pass without the doctor's help, then drinking lots of fluids is the right thing to do to try and flush it out.

If it gives you pain you can try painkillers during the times that it is on the move.

If the pain becomes unbearable, see your doctor again promptly.

I have the exact same thing happen to me!! I had an X-ray and they said the kidney stone as on the left not the right but all the pain is on the right hand side!

I was then sent for a colonoscopy, a gastroscopy, which showed nothing, a chest X-ray (???) and then a CT scan, which showed kidney stones on the right side again and also ovarian cysts, but neither big enough, they said, to be causing the pain! I was then sent to a urologist who checked my bladder and it was fine. I've also just had a smear test and that was fine.

I am worse when I'm on my period too but now I constantly feel like I need to urinate and it's painful, often feels like I'm having a contraction! ... I've been on antibiotics at least once a month for urine infections and am also fling preventative antibiotics every day..... Nothing is helping!

Going back to the docs tomorrow to see what we can do next.

Just so happy (strange term considering the pain) that someone is having very similar symptoms time!
