Non Specific Inflammation

Hi Ladies have any of you had a biopsy with the result non-specific inflammation after having used Clob for a few weeks?  This is my story.  Should I ask for another biopsy next time in a flare up?

My Labia minora have completely absorbed but  no itching. I do have general soreness. I am worried I may be using a steroid for no reasons but have been told that on presentation it looks like LS.

Hiya Jess..I believe a biopsy after using steroid treatment can give a negative reading as taking an incorrect tissue sample can. My consultant surgeon does not give steroid treatment until confirmed results following a biopsy. Negative results have been known to prove positive at a later biopsy. Whether you ask for a further biopsy or not has got to be a personal decision. I wouldn't say from your symptoms that you are using a steroid needlessly.

Thanks Norma.  Yes I wish I had known as I would have asked for the biopsy before treatment.  Guess we live and learn.  Thank you for replying.

My story is exactly the same as yours,  identical , I was sent to a specialist who said it was VA.and put on ovestin, which I insert once a week, this helps with the very thin skin, but I still have to use the Dermovate, just a tiny smidgen on the lips each night, if I miss a single night I am red raw and it looks like tiny blisters in the morning. I then have to use the Dermovate morning and night for couple of days and it calms down again. I was told to use a barrier .....Epaderm...to keep all body fluids of the area and so far if I stick to this regime Its OK. Hope this helps.

Hi Lorna  yes we sound similar. I am also taking Ovestin I loaded up for 2 weeks at every night and now twice a week like you. I do think this has helped. I don't use a barrier so may start to do this as well. I would really just like to know for sure, my gut feeling and all research I have done down I am pretty confident this is LS. Thanks!

Hi Lorna did your biopsy come back non-specific?

      Hi Jess

My Biopsy results...Non specific inflammation...no LS, no LP,  no Cancer. But I had been using the Dermovate, which I believe can mask the results. But providing it doesn't get any worse, I can jog along not to bad. My skin is as thin as tissue paper, but have been told it will plump up with the continued use of the  Ovestin.
