Nonunion Fibula Fracture

Posted , 2 users are following.

I broke my ankle in January and opted for non surgical treatment, casted for 4 weeks went into a boot thereafter. With continued pain and foot quite everted, I felt something was not right in my healing. I went for subsequent opinions and through a CAT scan it was determined that the fracture had not healed. I had surgery May 24 more than four months post injury. 2 screws and a plate. Needless to say, I am desperate to get back to normal. Anyone have any experience with my scenario? And when and how they recovered? Thank you 🙏 Robin

I had a nonunion in my ankle as well, but mine was in my medial malleolus. Injury happened 2 years ago, surgery just over a year ago. My ankle still isn't fully healed and I am waiting to see another surgeon.

I hope your recovery speeds up and everything gets better for you.

Wow, I am sorry to hear you are not fully healed after two years! I guess the old adage ‘one day at a time’ is the best advice. Thank you for the response and I wish you full health soon as well.
