It’s been six months since I was diagnosed with multiple blood clots, can anyone tell me when I should start feeling myself again, I really struggle to walk my legs always hurting!! Pains in my chest and back, (didn’t have clots in my lungs) I am only 50 years old but I feel I’m trapped in the body of a 80 year old 😩

Hi,
?You say you had multiple blood clots but not in the lungs, did I read that correctly ?. If I did and you are experiencing chest pain and back pain especially when breathing in and out I'd suggest you get down to your emergency department.
?If indeed you did have/had clots in the lungs, known as Pulmonary Embolism, what you are experiencing is normal and can take 6-12 months to fully recover, depending on the severity of the clot(s)

Hello everyone, I had my gall bladder removed in January 2017, two weeks later admitted to hospital with infection, they told me I had a cyst on my spleen!! All year was a struggle for me, I collapsed twice and eventually it turned out it wasn’t a cyst but a very large blood clot which broke off into my legs, kidneys, bowel and my heart! I’m on blood thinners for life which I struggle with as I do like my wine 🍷 I’ve had all the tests done and everything was normal it was a result of surgery. I know it sounds like I’m winging but I just want to be myself again, everyday is such a struggle with exhaustion

If it entered your heart and kidneys and it's extremely painful I'd be getting to the ER. things may of changed and some damage maybe occurring, not saying that it is, but better to be safe than sorry. I still get exhausted from my PE every now and then, nowhere near as much as I use to and it's coming up to 12 months soon since they found heaps of clots in both my lungs caused by a suspected DVT in the calf muscle.
?You could probably still enjoy your wine, just not a lot, it's just a matter of speaking with your specialist or GP.
?Have you had a heart echo to see if there was any heart strain or other damage ? Now that you have mentioned your situation the back pain is falling into place, is the pain around the kidney area ?

He could very well be right, but heart pain is generally felt on the left side, not always I know, but generally is, in fact heart pain can present as indigestion through to pains in the stomach. Your back pain is that in the kidney area ?
?That's what I thought I had when diagnosed with multiple blood clots in both lungs, I thought I had strained a muscle, how wrong was I and my GP, but then again the GP had no reason to suspect a PE as I didn't either. I was just lucky I had a switched on triage nurse when I presented with chest pain.
