hi,
i have been taking sertraline 50mg for 3 weeks and then 100mg for the past 7 or so weeks. i had noticed improvement but the past 2 weeks have bot been great. incrwased anxiety, intrusive thoughts back and that causes my mood to dip too. Also very tired again. is it normal to have a dip for a few weeks or should i increase to 150mg? worried i wont get any better. Any advice?

hello. I've heard that sertraline needs 3-4 months to fully settle in your system, until then dips are to be expected

I'm 12 weeks into Sertraline, my anxiety is much better in general but i do still have occasional ups and downs. I dont always think this means its not working, its normal. I would give this dose a while longer before thinking of changing x

Nervous, my advice is to keep taking it and let it "level" in your system. In the meantime, hang in there. This med takes 3-4 months to help with OCD and about 5-6 months to help with depression.

hi, i just keep trying to do things that i nirmally would even if i dont feel like doing them. I have had talking therapy and now know that the intrusive thoughts are not me and it is OCD that perpetuates these thoughts. a reassuring aspect is that they are totally contrary to your morals or belief system and thats why they are so alarming and keep coming back. its not really you but an illness that CAN be managed and cured. keep going with the tablets, get enough sleep and do enough in the day that keeps you busy and even the small things are accomplishments. Thats how i am trying to cope with it anyway. This firum is full of people in similar circumstances and we can take comfort and hope from others experience and messages x

I have bad thoughts about myself, like I am not good enough in private life and at work, have different bad thoughts regards to the future, I wont be healthy and happy again, all my life is just a pointless struggle, things wont be better ever etc etc. When you say you have introusive thoughts are they any similar than mine please?

l have joined facebook 'Bruno Snow' group, it's great. Am starting week 10 on 50mg and definitely getting some better days but also some days that are a struggle. Accepting that it takes to time to level,in your system.
