Nortriptyline fatigue and drowsy

Posted , 4 users are following.

I took only 10mg of nortriptyline 3 nights ago. I am still suffering extreme fatigue and drowsiness 3 days later. I think I am very sensitive to this medication. I have fatigue on and off but this is the worst I have had in quite a while. Has anyone else had such side effects from nortriptyline and how long after stopping nortriptyline did it take to wear Off?

No headaches for 3 days but the fatigue and dizziness is unbearable. I have not left the house for a few weeks now as the dizziness and head pressure has been getting much worse and even more unpredictable.

I have an appointment with my gp tomorrow. I want to tell them how I feel but I am worried that they can't help me or will not believe me. I don't the see the specialist again until late July. They will probably look into yet another medication that will make me worse not better. So frustrating I have one small step forward before a Hugh step backwards again. This dizziness business has been going on for 3 years and 3 months now. I may ask to try betahistine again. Maybe it will help this time around. I have read that it needs to be taken for a month or more before seeing any benefit from it.

All very hit and miss with these med's I am sorry to say. Very hard to know what is working or making you worse with all these symptoms up and down. Enough to drive one insane. My GP the other day was not very helpful at all. As soon as I entered their office they told me I only have 10 minutes.

Hope you find some relief soon Alison.

    Hi Jason,

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you've been having. I am a year into vestibular neuritis and was considering trying nortriptyline but now feeling hesitant. May I ask what your original diagnosis was?

Stay strong, I know how challenging this is.

    Laura
