I have to go in for a urinalisus thursday.what worries me is how you have to clean yourself off with an antibacterial wipe first..all i can think of is irritation and burn from doing that.Anyone have to deal with that?If so,what do you sudgest..rinsing right away then a moisturiseing skin treatment like vaseline?

My dream would be to see something that works for women Lee.  I think most women, unless they've experienced something like this, have no idea what women can go through, and to think of how many must have gone through it over the years - it doesn't bear thinking about!  I've learned so much too!  But we'll get the questionnaire up soon and see if we can get some ideas of what's helping, what's not helping and so on.

The best and most empathetic gynecologist I ever had was a man. When he retired I was crushed. Have had women since and none have been as good. The first female wanted me to have a D&C because of light bleeding after 6 months of menopause. Didn't have insurance to cover it. When I asked her what it would cost she acted as if I soiled the room; told me they handled that "out at the desk". Second female was the one that had me suffer for 5 years because she refused to prescribe Flagyl. The 3rd was remote. Then there was the female oncologist ( a 2nd opinion) who wanted me to have a complete hysterectomy based on existence of fibroids that caused no problems (she didn't bother to examine me; just looked at referral). Sooo....It seems a lot more women are going into the field, but I'm not so sure they are better. May be a coin toss. Personally I may discuss physical problems with a friend or two to see if they have it or have any info, but beyond that I don't look for sympathy. Better to discuss it with people in the same boat. They will have more helpful info and be more understanding....that's why this site is good.

My latest gynie is a lady called Miss Salmon and she's the best gynie I've EVER had.  She's absolutely lovely.  And my surgeon, who did the hysterectomy and prolapse repair was a lovely lovely lady too - we talked knitting LOL!  But I have had some not so good, both male and female, over the years.  The first thing I look at with a male is the size of his hands LOL!

Sounds like you've hit the doctor jackpot!

I'm getting tired of having to deal with new doctors. Another downside of getting old...your doctors retire. I'm more faithful than they are!

LOL!  My previous gynie retired, but I prefer this one, so it can be good and bad when they retire LOL!
