No they dont come out of your eyes and nose and ears.  They crawl up and down your body to get to those places, and itch sometimes intensely.

Unfortunately yes.  The ones (if you have threadworms) that look like flakes of skin do migrate over the body and cause itching are the ones that hatch out - the babies if you like not the females that lay the eggs.  The doc told me to take antihistamines to help with the itching but it didn't make any difference only helped me sleep through the night with only wakening a couple of times.  Sorry to tell you this and I hope you have caught them before it gets that bad..

      Thanks Balmpot,

I dont understand how these "flakes " can migrate over the body under the clothes during the day ? Do they make their way from down below and

then these flakes turn in to worms when they reach a chosen spot ? Then what ?

I googled eliminate thread worms and then went on to mumsnet.

Some very, very usefull homepoatic and herbal remedies there. As the conventional drugs dont seem to be working I am going to go down the homeopatic route now !

As I stated these white small flakes are what hatches from the eggs laid by the femailes outside of your bumhole.  Some, after hatching, crawl back inside you and others will make their way over your body.  I itch in my ears, eyes, nose and head and jujst about everywhere else, on a bad day.  Hopefully you have caught them before they become fully established.  I also think some folks have more sensitivity to this crawling sensation as my husband hardly knows he has them but I am iinundated with them.  Good luck girl.

Have used ovex albendazole, stromectin, diatomaceous earth, black walnut, clove and wormwood capsules and tinctures at diferent times.  Unda nos 39 and 3 (currently), probiotics and garlic capsules.  Think that's about all over a period of 3 years unsuccessfully.  I am know keeping my fingers crossed that this epazote will do the trick, ( I cannot get the fresh leaves here) but have read that the seeds were also used so that's what I am going to try.  Will keep you informed if it is a success.

Check out different kinds of mites, along with threadwordms.  There are over 130 different types of parasitic worms that have been identified.  Over 30,000 different kinds of mites.

Specifically bird mites and demodex mites.  These mites burrow under the skin, and/or crawl into every opening within your body!

Thanks Ray, you have made me feel really good !

How am I going to identify what worm or mites I have ?

Its defenetly not bird mites as we have no birds .

Its not demodex mites although we have dogs , but they are groomed/bathed regularly being poodles. And they dont itch or scratch.

Its got to be thread worm. When I sit infron of the laptop from about 6 to 8 the itching starts all over my body.,like something is biting me.later like 10.00 after we have eaten and drunk wine its gone.

I shower every night and change under garments and night clothes every night.

You must shower first thing in the morning to wash off the eggs, although some will have already hatched, it takes anything from two hours plus from the female laying to when they start to hatch.  I remember when I first knew that I hd threadworms that I did have a sensation of something nipping my legs and then as time went by it increased and it was all over my body.  I am virtually itch free when I am doing physical work but within a couple of hours sitting down in the evening they are quite bad.  I gave up drinking sweet and red wines and went down the dry rose/white route 'cos sweet ones only appeared to make the irritation worse.

I will have to do with the dried epazole.  Have taken some seeds today even though they are supposed to be dangerous but I don't think I took enough and you are supposed to follow up with some epsom salts cos the epazole paralizes them and the laxative (well I'll leave that to your imagination).  I have read to not plan anything on the day of the epsom salts cos I will have a very busy bum.  lol

Oh  ..... it all went off the page. Here goes again.

After showering, some  carrots,Citricidal, pumpkinseeds and lots of bottled water,my day hasent been too bad.I showered at lenght this morning.Hovered  and wet dusted, change all clothes.

Soon as I feel an itch on my body I brush it off.

I am very sencetive to dander and have to be carefull when I change the sheets.

Stems from when we used to groom dogs for a living,I couldent stand dog dander.Made me itch terrebly.

I read about Thornit ear powder for dogs ,we used to manufacture this under medicated Ear powder ,but licensing acts got too strickt.Anny way if a dog has an itchy ear we put about a salt spoon in.So I thought itch ...smile I will dust some "down there " and do you know the itch stopped smile

I am still incredulous that the eggs can travell on the skin all over the body.Amazing creatures. Be back in touch later.Good luck with your regime.

It isn't the eggs that travel over your body it is the hatchlings.   They looks like white flakes if you wear black panties you will see them but I have yet to see them move others will disappear back up your bum - retroinfection.  They must just like the dark.  Only ever seen one wriggler in the toilet bowl.

Wonder how folks dealt with these things in years gone by when there weren't any antiparasitic drugs.  There were constant outbreaks at my daughters school when she was a young child but luckily we were spared.  Would have gone nuts if we'd caught them then.

Am looking to buy some thornit powder, gonna need a second mortgage before long.  ha ha.   Wish I'd known about that when I had my first dog - he suffered with incredibly waxy ears.

It won't be an easy ride but you must remember that if you succeed in removing them that to keep up a regime (possibly not so regimented) because the treatment time (and they can return) is approx 3/4 months.

If I ever rid them I will be taking 'stuff' for the rest of my life, never want to get another dose.

      Anyway good luck hen.

      Hi,

so  I took Dulcolax one tablet last night with a handful of pumpkinseed in reverse order !

the night was very good actually ,the od faint itch mostly on my body.Showered first thing and found no evidence in the poo !

Cina homeopathic tablets arrived and have started them.

Is it possible that there are no worms......? But that the itch is something different ? As I don't have any wiggly feeling in the actual bum ? But itch from something all over my  body ? You can get authoring on EBay....

Hope your night was reasonable. Thanks again for all your advice and info.

can we stay in touch please as we have exchanged so much good information?

      Anna
