Since just before Christmas I have been suffering with BV. It started with a very sore burning labia so sore I was unable to sit down. I have taken antibiotics orally and vaginally - no help. Tmi my bv smells of amonia/dried pee. My question is has anyone else had burning pain and a non fishy smelling Oder. It's not nice this BV sick of smelling now. If anyon has any tips I would be eternally grateful. Take care girls x

My first OB Gyne prescribed me on ultrasound / transvaginal test then papsmear. I was so embarassed because the doctor who made my ultrasound / transvaginal test is a man in his mid 40's. While the papsmear is my dra. (OB gyne). All this stuff is my first time. She gave me a list of medicines like Flagystatin insertion to vagina for 7 days ( once daily at bedtime) and metformin for my polycystic ovaries. After taking the Flagystatin for 7 days my symptoms gone. But it re-occured a week after. I texted my OB and she asked me to go back in her clinic. By that time I was so frustrated because I spend my time and money for nothing.
Due to my conflict work schedule Im not able to go back to my OB Gyne's clinic, instead I just spend my day's as normal as much as I could. I've tried natural home remedies like garlic insertion into vagina evry night, douching hydrogen peroxide, eating yougurt, drinking crandberry juice etc but this does'nt help me at all. Me and my partner still had intimate moments but I never enjoyed it because of BV. Aside from that the trush came from my vagina was so bad to the point that I dnt want my partner to touch it.
July this year, I made up my mind and seek second opinion to another OB. Successfully, I was so happy that my BV cured after taking medicines prescribed me by my 2nd OB. She gave me CANESTIN Vaginal suppository (7 tablets / once a day at bedtime) and metrodinazole (14 tablets) twice daily (morning and night after meal), also folic acid (once daily) as my vitamins. I'm a 1 month free BV survivor (lols)...=)
On my diet, I ate a lot of fruits especially bananas and pineapples. Green and leafy vegetables. Cut totally my alcohol intakes instead drink a lot lot of water. You need to be patient for finding cure. I'll pray that you guy's will gonna be BV free soon.
Please seek advice to OB Gyne, made a papsmear test so that you will know what is the specific reason of your BV. Mine is cocobacilli infection under the category of Bacterial Vaginosis.
