Not diagnosed but think I gave myself HSVI to myself.

Hi all,

So I have had oral herpes for about 4 years, I get it really bad...but have somehow managed my outbreaks.  I believe that I have given myself this awful disease down there.  I had an outbreak in my nasal cavaity and didn't know until after memorial day weekend, cause I was on a boat drunk ugh...also we bathed naked...so I dont know if I was already carrying the virus or what... I got one lesion on my sacrum. sad It went away in like two days.  I had it swabbed but it really just crusted and it didn't last long with the oozing phase...so of course results came back negative.

I have been dealing with the prodome I believe for about 2 and a half weeks, because of the swelling, yeast infection, and probably since Ive been on antivirals for four years now it has not been able to break out properly down there.  However, since then have been looking at my vagina over and over, taking pictures and just making sure everything is on the up and up.  I am very nervous for it to break out down there.  My question is is it normal to have swelling for nearly 2 and a half weeks?  I also have headaches on the right side of my head, and shoots of pain down the right side of my leg??? I just feel so fatigued too! I am about to take an epsom salt lavender mix bath....I read somewhere where it isn't good to look, but I can't help it...I hope by touching myself I didn't make it spread! Oh please someone help me with answers! How do you know when it breaks out...I have felt pain already for two weeks.

Why do you think you gave it to yourself down there?

So you take valtrex for cold sores?

Have you recently be sexually active w someone?

No that's not normal to be swollen down there.

I get nerve pain too and a friend has the same and getsbthe headaches... Hers are on the left side though.

    Hi Feelbroken,

it is just really swollen down there, like they say herpes means creeping...

I also live in south florida so the heat is rampid... My gynecologist said that its normal for first infection to have yeast infection...mine has lasted a while....I did have a lesion on my upper butt crack on the right side. She said if I had given it to myself it may only appear this one time on my buttocks and not anywhere else!

I really hope this is the case...but if not I still have this disease, in both places..so I know its something I have to face head on!

Yes I take aclivoryr for cold sores for 4 years, sometimes they work other times they dont for my face...Ive always been so cautious!!! I used two towels when had ob on face, to prevent this!  I am those meds because my outbreaks are soo frequent...maybe more than six times a year.  Although it has been six months since my last ob on face, I had one in my nasal cavity...on memorial day weekend.

I feel prodome well for my face I just dont know how prodome goes for down there. My lymph nodes in neck swollen, and in the beginning had light fevers...headaches and joint pain.

Okay so I did have sex on memorial day...and the guy went down on me.  We both had the talk about cold sores and down there, he said no for both and I told him I had cold sores...ugh!  I did not know I was having an outbreak in my nose---it is unseen and not visual...that day...or I wouldn't had ever been there with him! He also went down on me! I told him that I was sick, but he has not had any symptoms!

I am afraid I have either given it to myself, or he helped transfer it to me! But surely by now it should of outbreaked on my vj right?  How long do first outbreaks last, can they keep coming up and up?  Or do you have to build your immunity back up again before that feeling goes away?  What about the swelling, when that goes down will it all of the sudden appear?  I have read so many things! And I know my body,  something is seriously wrong!

    sad

Wow... Your gyno is an idiot. I've had it pop up everywhere all over the place from the top of my crack, anus, butt cherks, inner thigh, internally and on inner labia... I've never had anal sex. Once the virus infects the sacral ganglia, it can pop up anywhere in the anogential region.

I live in the same location, the humidity doesn't cause that. You will often question, especially in the beginning if you have a yeast infection, when it's actually herpes.

When I started writjrmy symptoms down daily and location for almost a yr, I was able to tell the difference.

Herpes isn't includes in the tests, I'll be willing to bet he's unaware of his diagnosis and you fit the time line from being infected from sex to having an ob down there. The guy who gave me herpes said he didn't have it either and he lied and knew he had it. Over 80% of people w genital herpes don't even know they have it, because they are asymptomatic.

Did she so a culture swab in you? You didn't give this to yourself, he gave it to you.

I have a friend who knew she had hsv 2, but never thought she had oral herpes and she does, because she's never had an ob.

The last several months, but once I have only broke out in my crack and on butt cheeks, whereas the first 7 months I only broke put on my vagina. It dies what it once. Your swelling down there is an ob.. Obs do not and most of the time, display as your "text book" ob. Many feel swollen and itchy or red and irritated, w no sore.

I am willing to bet he gave it to you and is why he's not been sick.

Well you clearly have read one of my posts, because I recommend lavender Epsom salt baths specifically on here. Just soak as much as you can daily, until symptoms subside. When it comes to your primary ob though, not much helps and you kinda gotta just ride it out.

Since you already take valtrex, it's likely just not letting it have a full blown ob.. Go get swabbed and in 3 months get a blood test. Too soon for you to get one right now, as your body will need time to build antibodies. At this time, you coukd either have hsv 1 or 2 down there, you won't know until you get tested and typed specific.

      Hi Feelbroken,

Thank you for your reassurance....I do know I have something. And what reallys sucks is that I know have to hound this man about if he is lying to me or not.

So your saying that after I do the espolm salt baths and all swelling goes down then bam! Those legions hit you like you never knew kind of viscious?  So these prodome stages to the blistering stages could last anywhere from 1-4 weeks?  Wow! This is a lot to take in!!!

I was seeing about two other men, that I am in like with and they keep asking me to go on dates...i really don't think this is a good idea so I keep telling them I can't meet.  I want to be able to tell them when the timing is right though....I have to prep myself for the rejection....this guy was so great, I don't know why I slept with this other guy.. It was soo stupid of me!

I may be loosing the best catch Ive had yet, with genital herpes free!

      This makes me so sad!

I will definitely be taking those baths every day...I just want this to get over with and for it to start so I can get on with the simple things like walking, and able to not feel like everysecond I may or may not of felt a sting!

      UGH what a horrible disease!

When did you first start experiencing symptoms? This doesn't mean you'll have sores pop put. Everyone wants to know a defined answer on what to expect w heroes, but it's not that easy. Everyone's immune system is as unique as their thumb prin and our immune system has to do w how our body handles the virus. Some are better at suppressing it than others. Some never even get blisters or sores, just bumps.. I only get bumps now, no sores...
