Hello

I wake up feeling like Ive been run over.  EVery muscle in my body aches.  My joints are sore too.

I get a strange feeling on the skin on top of my shin bones and the top of my feet like sunburn.  The skin feels swollen but its not.

Ive had numbness in my cheek and tingling in my top lip.

Does this sound like symptoms of fibro or Im worried it may be MS.

Can anyone advise?

Thank you

Liz xx

Hi Lizzie. The joint and muscle pain and feelings of exhaustion sound familiar as symptoms of Fibromyalgia. The other symptoms could also be related since everyone is different and experience varying symptoms. I doubt that is MS Lizzie, and why would you think that anyway sweetie?! Just go and get checked by your GP and you can ask him to refer you to a Rheumatologist to get an accurate diagnosis. Don't think the worst Lizzie. I am sure you are worrying for nothing. Anxiety can cause face pain and tingling and weird skin sensations as well. Put your mind at ease sweetie and be proactive in getting to the source of this. See your doctor.  Warm hugs! Maggie x

Get yourself some self help books on how to control your anxiety sweetie. It is manageable. Or talk to a therapist to get to the underlying reasons you have these fears.  I'm sure you will be fine Lizzie. Maggie xx

      Hi

I am currently seeing a psychiatrist but he puts everything down to anxiety.

We are trying to find a medication to take, but he says I find myself having all the side effects because of my anxiety.

The tingling in my top lip is working its way across the lip.  Making me even more anxious!

Well trust your therapist sweetie. I am certain that this symptom is anxiety related. Worry and fear can cause all kinds of weird sensations in the body Lizzie. Try some relaxation methods. Listen to some soft music and try to get your mind off all your worry. You cannot have an emotion without a thought sweetie. So try to control your thinking. You probably catastrophize situations. May I ask how old you are Lizzie?

You are still a young woman sweetie. So much living in front of you. Have you suffered trauma in your life that has made you very insecure? Difficult life experiences can bring on anxiety and feeling like everything is a crisis. I have GAD at times sweetie. You can learn how to control those thoughts with time. I am glad that you are in therapy because that will be very helpful to talk out these feelings. Have you ever been on a mild antidepressant like Endep? That could help your anxiety. Don't despair sweetie. Things will get better. I have found on anxious days that soft soothing music really helps me.

Hi Lizzie, I have the same issues plus some. I was told that I had a pain syndrome which includes fibromyalgia. I was have migraines and I had tingling in the right side of my head, cheek and tongue even without the migraines. I have pain all over my body and joints. I thought maybe I had MS too but I was told only a pain syndrome. I been really having really funky symptoms like burning in thigh, neck and spine. Difficulty with walking you name it. The neurologist at University of Michigan it was only fibromyalgia. MS and fibro have so many similar symptoms. I would ask your PCP to refer you to a rheumatologist first because they usually diagnosed fibromyalgia. The thing that separate fibro for MS is lesion for on brainstem or spinal cord. Sounds more like fibromyalgia but only way to be sure and see a specialist. I hope this helpful. God bless.

Thank you so much for replying.

May I ask, did you have an MRI?
