Not fair!

Some people go through life having tons of unprotected sex with dozens of different partners but at the end of the day they've nothing. Others have sex one time in life and they walk away defective. Society looks down upon the "defective" people as if they have been promiscuous and thus deserving of scorn. People with Herpes are frequently made fun of by those who probably have it also but just don't know about it. I secretly wish that the entire world's population wakes up to find out that they too are infected. That way noone will need to hide anymore.

Hi, I know how you feel and totally agree that it is so unfair, I guess some of us are definitely unlucky.  I am 64 years old, widowed for a long time, had a relationship with a man after 8 years and caught HSV2 from him.  He lied about not being promiscuous plus everything else, cheating behind my back, etc, etc.  I was stupid enough to trust him and ended up with a disease of a lifetime.  I suffer from it everyday, lot of abdo pain, frequent outbreaks, painful virgina and headaches.  I also have sores on my tongue, probably herpes related, have to get it checked.

Anyway, I don't mean to make you feel worse and hope you feel better soon.

Well, the truth of the matter is; in the next 10-20 years, you may get your wish. As it stands 1 in 4 women and 1-5 men are infected with this virus....that's 20-25% of the population; Of those, 80% are asymptomatic (no recognizable signs) and are still spreading it (innocently) The doctors don't routinely test for HSV unless you're having symptoms which they already know that 80% of us don't. So, it continues to spread. I think it's an epidemic and the CDC says that they don't mandate screening because "they feel" it will not change people's sexual behavior. Well, it may not change the people infected but if these statistics were made public and more mainstream, I can guarantee that it will change the thoughts and behavior of the people who are not already infected. my ex bf had an std screening and did not know until later that hsv was not included and it must be specifically requested...WHY????? Because he had no symptoms. SMFH!!!!!

I'm new to this and feel the same way you do....p*ssed the hell off!

Well I knowingly played with fire and half expected to get burnt just didn't expect to end up as a sexual leper.

Guess I got everything I deserve but I wouldn't wish this on anyone 😏.
