dr said ive now started the menopause at 43 she didnt put me on anything /meds to control it but recently well 2 wks now started getting swaying and a spinning sensation in my head at night then jerking down from my neck to wastline battling to sleep i think the dr has now put me more at risk by not giving me early treatment for the menopause & ive ended up with this horrible thing slept for 2 hours each night with it so tired now drained by it that worried that its been left un attended /treatment wise that my body has cause itself to give me this other problem honestly having a massive melt down over it & the worry of not sleeping that causing me to get anxiety fed up been hospital and all the do is transfer me back to my gp.

so not only going thru the menopause which makes me feel horrible crying & tired that i just want to sleep the day away but i cant because of the other issues losing the will to cope or thinking straight i dont wanna be here anymore crosses my head daily

    diane,

No reason to be suffering this way. Do you have alternative or holistic drs in your area? They seem to have more training and knowledge on women's peri and menopausal issues. They will likely do regular labs and get you on what you need to sleep and be a much happier person. I started with bio identical creams and now on pellets. No problems and I feel normal again.

      dianne,

Sounds like you are in a vicious cycle . Lack of sleep can put everything in a downward spiral. I started peri in my early 40s, didnt know anything about it back then. The first thing my holistic dr put me on was progesterone to help with my sleep and hot flushes at night while he waited for all my lab work to come back. That really helped. You will probably find out your beginning to get low on three hormones if you get tested. Progesterone, estrogen and testosterone. Testosterone replacement can make a big difference not only for intimacy but mental stability too. Mainstream docs have a tendency to put women on anti depressants, anxiety and sleeping pills. All these just put a bandaid on the problem and don't solve it.

yh i'm not going on them until i've had some kind of treatment for this peri menopause first see if that helps calm my emotional state down and like u i knew nothing on the subject clueless trying to take it in the info i've spoke to a few family membs but they all went thru this with no issues at all 😫 just feel trapped in my head & the little girl in me comes out instead of this level headed women 😢😢😢...nice to talk to someone who had similar issues

so how long did it take for the treatment to work or before you felt yourself again ?

      dianne,

I went 10 years through peri before my periods ended. At 55 when the periods stopped all heck broke loose. My mental clarity, thinning hair, gaining weight, et etc. I didn't like what i was seeing and feeling. That's when i started rounding up every piece of info I could find. After starting the progesterone it was pretty quick on the relief from hot flushes and sleepless nights. It wasn't the full "cure" until estrodial and testosterone replacement started. For some it can take a couple months to feel relief, for me it was pretty quick, maybe a week or two. I've commented on this forum a lot and one thing I always say that is very very important- finding the right doctor is key to success! Not sure where you live but in the states many doctors and practices do bio identical hormone replacement and pellet therapy.

I went through the same situation. Scary! Went to my gynecologist and he put me on bio estrogen, progesteron, and testesteron cream. For the first few days it appeared that I felt even more irritated and completely stopped sleeping. I got mad and stopped using the cream. But I did notice that my headaches were gone. So, I decided to give the cream another try, but lowered the dose. My Dr put me on one pump in the morning, and 2 before bed. I do one in am and one in pm. That seems better for me. My condition greatly improved. The only thing is that irritation is still bothering me big time. I feel so irritated, that it's impossible to tolerate. Sleep improved, but not sure if it was due to cream. I also started to take Calm Sleep before bed. That thing is almost magic. At the same time I was taking DIM, but not sure if that helped me or not. Didn't really notice any improvement. I think bio cream is working good, but only if the dosage is right. My hormones are very low, that is why my Dr put me on high dose. But as I mentioned before, I felt even more irritated and sleepless. And even though that I didn't sleep, I had tones of energy, I felt like I need something to calm me down. Doesn't make sense , but that is how I felt. But now, the second day I feel irritated again really bad. That is why I am here, looking for solutions. I already took so many things to calm myself down, nothing works. Maybe a good run will help. Anyway, try Calm Sleep, sold in CVS.
