I m 62 and have suffered BPH for 20 years lately I've been noticing I have little feeling when peeing.

I saw a urologist and he tried a urolift without any drugs and it failed, he said I have a bend he couldn't get to where he needed to go into bladder because urolif tool wasnt flexible like his scope was when he checked me out at first, I would have to be put under Anastasia so I may as well get Green light.; ?I decided to go to Mayo Phoenix and get HOLEP, as you can see I'm a little scared and wonder if I should continue to live with big I would like feed back on HOLEP

First of all Is that doctor nuts  I think he is doing it because he want you to have the other procedure.  I had my urolift done over 2 years ago.  I was put out no problem  it worked great.  I would not do anything to my prostate that would cause any side effects.  Life is to short to have anything taking away  Have the urolift done  It works great  Ken

Urolift doesn't work in every case, mine included. Big waste and more problems than before. Good luck.

Urolift will work if the prostate is blocking the bladder.  They can pull it apart.  Some men may need only 2 implants  but some men need up to 8  I had 4 put in works great.  Was good in a week no meds and never got up at night.  I would do it again but put me to sleep before you start to mess around in my insides  Take care  ken

I had my HoLPE done last June 29th and could not be happier. You are in a good place at the Mayo in Phoenix as they have lots of experience with this procedure. As with any procedure experience counts alot.

I agree with others on this treard, why at 52, years old would anyone do something that causes ANY sexual side effects? There are procedures that do not. I just dont think you will find them in the offerings of any urologist in practice. There is a lot better solution out there.

Paul if I were you I wouldn't do a thing. The problems you might have after a procedure is much greater sometimes.
