Not sure if I have plantar fasciitis

A year ago I was diagnosed by my podiatrist that I've plantar fasciitis, but the pain in my feet is concentrated on the midfoot area of both feet rather than the heels. So, I'm wondering if this is another type of injury rather than PF; the pain is on the midfoot and sometimes spreads to the ball of my foot as a burning/searing pain rather than a sharp pain/"stepping on shards of glass" feeling as some describe it. So, is this plantar fasciitis and what exercises or treatment should I undergo and for how long? Thanks.

Doesn't sound like PF to me, but who am I? But yeah PF is pretty specifically about the heel area. You could have maybe torn or done some damage to the end of that ligament, which would be close to the area you are speaking about. You really should see a Podiatrist and get treated....if possible correctly. Let us know....

I'm sorry...I see that you have seen a Podiatrist already.  Hhhmmm....maybe a second opinion might clear things up?

I have the same issues but have been diagnosed by several doctors as having PF. No treatment are helping so far so my doubts are starting to arise... Have you had any guidance?

Hi Julie, actually two weeks ago a friend recommended me to a physician in chinatown. Apparently this physician specialized in pressure points. After pressing and massaging several pressure points around my feet, calves, etc, the pain caused by the so called "plantar fasciitis" disappeared on day two. (He told me to wait 2 days before running again). Ever since then, the pain has gone away. Also for repercussive measures, he taught a few stretches/massages to perform after a run, which also helps make my feet less tense.

Thank you for the reply! I am glad you seem to have solved this issue! Would you mind sharing the name of the physician? I will heading to NY this week and would like to try booking an appointment with him, I am ready to try anything at this point!

His name is Dr.Li, and it's located in Boston, China town, not in New York.

Wow...that is wonderful!! I live in Dallas, Texas in the U.S. but maybe there are other Asian doctors here that know how to do that! At least you've brought another way it can be heeled to the table....something I'm sure most of us are hungry for so thank you very much dantehalo. Let us know Juliette, if you found him and if he helped you too. If I could I would go there with you...but surely other doctors are using the pressure points too???  I'm gonna check around.
