Not taking anymore meds

I am on pregabilin 350m per day, ampitripliline, 100 m per day, Also i take 30/500 painkillers 8 per day. I also have crps in my left arm after having a blood clot. I take blood thining med, which is the only med i want to keep takin. Since i was diagnoised with fibr and put on all these meds, my weight has went up by almost 4 stone, im on antidepresants, bloodpressure meds, cholestrol meds and stomach med. I am still in bloody agony, and still have all the other symptons such as balance problems, dry mouth, brain fog, urticaria, speach problems and many many more. So i have decided to stop all my med slowley as it appears not to be doing what its supposed to. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that is having the same problems as me, and if they have tried to reduce their meds and lived to tell the tale. Any input would be gratefully appreciated.

When I first experienced pains almost over 20yrs ago, I was put on various anti-inflammatory meds and I put on so much weight and suffered with mild depression. I took the decision that this meds were not helping me and starte to seek alternative therapies. The only meds I have taken recently were iron and vit D. I was only diagnosed in Aug 2014 with Fibro. I am at the moment trying out Ayruvedic herbal remedies only. I did find going to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy(CBT) help me in the mindfulness process of how we think about certain daily issues and how to cope with them without creating further stress for oneself. Although the pains have not gone the thought process is much stronger for me. I personally stay away from meds but that's my choice. You should get your GP to wean you off slowly.
Gentle hugs and stay calm and positive. x

I only take amitriptylene but am withdrawing fom that at the monent.(With Docs support) Main reason being I put on 1 stone in weight. I'm hoping to get more into mindfulness and lifestyle changes.
So I would say go for it! But please, only with your Docs approval and support.
Take care, Anne

As fibro is an auto immune disease anything that boosts the immune system is a good idea, get plenty sun, with protection of course, for vitamin D, eat a healthy diet making sure you get the five a day in fruit and veg of different colours I do this with smoothies.
my fingers are really sensitive so off fo now

Hi Claire
I had such bad reactions to all meds that I decided to go med free too. I use hypnotherapy, chiropractor, diet and supplements to keep me going. Not saying it's easy because it's not but it is my choice and I do not regret it. If you have been taking meds regularly then please take advice for a safe withdrawal. Dead sea salts are also part of my regime. A good soak helps with the muscle problems. I wish you well with your quest to go med free. Keep us updated on your progress
